HTC Desire Z versus Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro

Recently launched smartphone, Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro is giving straight competition to HTC Desire Z. These both smartphones are based on slide-out QWERTY design.

If we talk about the comparison of hardware and software configurations, then in hardware configuration Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro is verdict. Xperia Pro comes with 1GHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB of RAM is allied with this quick performing processor. Xperia Pro consists of 320MB in-built storage memory. Desire Z comes with 800MHz processor which is inferior to Xperia Pro’s processor. Also, it has 512MB of RAM and it consists of 1.5GB in-build storage memory. In these both smartphones, secondary storage memory can be expanded up to 32GB by using a microSD card. If you will buy Xperia Pro, then you will get an 8GB free microSD card in the pack of it.

In both phones, the Android Operating System is installed. But Xperia has updated version of Android OS that is v2.3, whereas Desire has v2.2 of Android OS. Xperia Pro has 8MP camera which includes features such as LED flash and resolution of 3264X2448 pixels whereas; Desire Z has a 5MP camera. It includes LED flash and a resolution of 2592×1944 pixels. This difference in mega pixels states Xperia Pro is winner.

Xperia is also a lighter and bit sleeker phone as compare to Desire Z. As it only weighs 140g and has dimension of 120x57x13.5mm, whereas Desire Z weighs around 180g and has dimension of 119×60.4×14.2mm. In comparison of display, Xperia Pro is bit better. Both phones have 3.7 inches display. But Xperia has (480×854 pixels) LED backlit LCD touch type display and Desire S has (480×800 pixels) TFT capacitive touchscreen.

In other basic features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3g capability, there is a draw. In battery output performance, the HTC Desire Z has our verdict. But overall reviews of Xperia Pro are better.
